Time Flies ✈️

Welcome to The Bright Side🦋,

where time flies when you're having fun :)

I've been so blessed to reach people through music, and you all know how much travel means to me....Or better yet, you will understand how much it means to me throughout this series. Whether its improving your attention span, taking notes for future travels, or living vicariously through these posts, you decide how you wish to take my experiences. To each is own, season to taste, just know my expression is mine. I want to continue to connect with you all, and share how travel has impacted my life, gifting me new experience and perspective time and time again. I went from being terrified of planes, to traveling overseas by myself. So, I guess that's where I'll start.....

WHAT DOES TRAVEL MEAN TO ME?

Travel is one of the many things that interconnects us to one another. It's the action form of communication, in my opinion. I'm sure you appreciate when someone travels to spend time with you in person over a quick call. There's something about physical distance and proximity that evokes intimacy and closeness, and as humans we crave that - some more than others, of course. Travel is something that we do on a daily basis, from going to the bathroom to flying overseas for vacation. We'll always be going the distance because travel isn't going anywhere any time soon. It's a natural part of our way of life, and is necessary for our growth.

It's simply up to us to decide how we feel about it, regardless of whether or not we actually find pleasure in doing so. It reminds us of our autonomy and offers a sense of humility and surrender. We can choose to romanticize the roadtrip or the walk through TSA, OR focus on how homesick we feel with the sound of a newborn baby crying in 13B. It can be quite the humbling experience, but when you choose to surrender to what it can be OR what beautiful stranger may be waiting to meet and experience you when you arrive, your experience may change.

Travel reminds you of how easily your experience can be shaped by your outlook.

A child easily assumes that every time they leave the house they'll be doing something beautiful and fun-filled. Whereas, an adult who spent their own money to have a good time may be so overwhelmed with the awareness of their feelings that they miss the opportunity to manifest something magical into their experience. We are still those same children looking to find beauty and joy in all things, and I find immense gratitude in the ability to move as we please, as there are many that cannot.

You may leave your childhood home, but carry the same feelings or emotions with you because the place isn't responsible for how you feel about it, but the place can inspire new feelings within you. Isn't it beautifully tragic? (if you get the reference, drop a 💕)

Nonetheless, I wouldn't trade it for a thing! The places I've been, the people I've met, the conversations I've shared, the hiccups that made me pivot, the unforgettable nights with strangers, etc. Travel reminds me to be present and enjoy life while it's happening rather than wishing for it to be better than it already is. Each place invites a new piece of me to be exposed and embraced with love, even if it does feel that way at the time. Not to mention, it's a great conversation starter. There'll always be someone asking, "Where have you been?" or "Where are you going?," and I love that!

So tell me! Feel free to share your experience as I share mine, or ask any questions you have!

You never know who you're impacting and inspiring!!!

One love,

Akira
